I am captivated by the idea of a cheese filled dough that you just pull apart and dip into a sauce of choice. Pizza dough or biscuits from a container filled with the cheese of choice can change everything in the recipe.

I was testing for our holiday party so I decided on a wreath design so that the marinara bowl can just be nestles in the center. Due to the strong taste of the marinara I also decided on Italian themed seasonings brushed on during baking.
This was fun! It was fun to build – fun to look at and fun to pull apart to eat. PLUS it tasted great. Be sure to use ingredient of the beset quality you can afford. My rule is always. “The fewer the ingredients that better the quality they should be” This is true because you can taste each ingredient. Not going to let $1.00 fit of cheapness ruin a $5.00+ recipe. Does not make sense to me.
Since the actually wrapping of the balls does not have to be sheer perfection you can let the non-cooks in the family help with this. My attention span can get very short so I was not the most perfect of wrappers on this recipe as you can see inn the pre-bake picture but I think it came out great..works for me. I like a laid back look so I baked on parchment on a pizza pan then moved to a serving tray ( parchment and all) but you can serve as you like.
The wreath was built, covered with clear wrap and refrigerated a few hours before baking which made it even better!
